Texas poised to fund community colleges based on student outcomes

Jobspeaker was very excited to see this move from Texas as we couldn’t agree more. This is in our wheelhouse and aligns with how we:

• Help colleges align programs with skills in demand in the workplace

• Guide students to careers in demand

• Support students along their chosen career path to credential completion

• Help retain students in the program

• Help students get Work-Based Learning experiences that increase the chances of completion and employment

• Help students find jobs

All of these value adds lead to more funding from the new Texas formula as colleges enroll students in programs more suited to their needs and interests. Programs will be better aligned to the job market, and community colleges will graduate more students in fields where they will find jobs and succeed in those jobs.
