AAC&U Launches 2026–27 AI Institute — 316 Campus Teams Have Now Gone Through the Program | AAC&U

The AAC&U's Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum is a seven-month, team-based program that helps campuses respond to the challenges and opportunities AI presents for courses, curricula, and higher education in general — designed for departments, programs, colleges, and universities seeking to rethink pedagogical and assessment approaches, address academic integrity concerns, examine ethical and equity implications of AI, and adopt AI competencies and literacies as learning outcomes.

Over the past two years, 316 teams from 296 institutions have participated.

Running September 10, 2026 through April 6, 2027, the new cohort will support campus teams in developing AI-integrated pedagogical, curricular, and operational strategies that address academic integrity, ethical and equity concerns, and workforce preparation.
The institute runs webinars, mentoring, and a national capstone — building the cross-campus scaffolding that individual institutions can't easily construct alone.
